Free Homeschool Help for Parents

Free homeschool help for parents is a list specifically aimed at helping parents who suddenly find themselves home educating their children during the Corona Virus outbreak.

During this time children have been ordered home from school and many parents are frightened at the prospect of what they need to do next.

Not part of the plan!

Home schooling may never have been part of the grand plan! I have, therefore put together this list of homeschool help for parents which will hopefully give you some guidance and sanity during this time.

If nothing else, these resources will give you ideas and the motivation to give it a try!

Who knows, you may enjoy home education so much, you join the club!! I will update this list regularly in order to include new and recent posts and websites around the globe.

There is no right or wrong way of home educating your children. As a home school parent who has home educated two children full time for the past 5 years, I can confess that sometimes it was a disaster.

But on the whole, my kids have done exceptionally well despite not always following a daily schedule.

My daughter finished her IGCSE exams when she was 14, and is currently in year 3 of Open University, studying from home.

My son is currently 14 years old and is into computers and was due to write his first IGCSE exam this year (now cancelled) in which he is achieving between 90 – 100% for his mock exams!

I say to you. Don’t pressurise yourself or your children when it comes to home education. Yes, they may need a routine.

Don’t worry if you can’t nail the curriculum and study techniques they are used to at school. Home schooling is very different to mainstream school. Embrace it!

Our simplified homeschool schedule and tips on homeschooling

By Ergo Journal – Tips all about homeschooling your children

Textbooks and mainstream school are not the only way to learn. Your child should read all sorts of things, from comic books to the newspaper.

Give pre-schoolers individual attention. Designate an area stocked with toys and crafts for them to spend time playing. Encourage the more advanced kids to work with the younger ones.

This makes them all learn quicker, and gives confidence to the older child.

Think outside the box for home schooling

You can save money by making some supplies yourself. Flash cards are nothing more than laminated paper! Brainstorm ideas with your children if you need help with finding supplies and resources.

Many parents around the world have suddenly been forced into homeschooling. If this applies to you, learning all you can about home education is crucial.
